Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Cost Control Engineer (Saudi National) for a Global Construction Consulting Firm based in Riyadh.

 

Location – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Salary 32,200 SAR/month

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in cost control and financial management on major national and international projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in project cost management and financial analysis.
  • Strong experience in managing and prioritizing project costs across complex portfolios.
  • Proven ability to present financial plans and requirements to senior leadership and government authorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills to support project cost planning and approvals.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Control Strategy & Financial Management

  • Develop and implement cost control strategies, systems, and procedures across projects.
  • Monitor and analyze project financial performance to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to enhance project profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and corporate financial policies.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Prepare and present financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance analyses to senior management.
  • Develop and update project budget forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Provide early identification of cost overruns and financial risks.
  • Support decision-making through detailed financial analysis and reporting.

Project Cost Monitoring & Compliance

  • Coordinate with project managers and department heads to track and control project expenditures.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and expense reports to ensure budget compliance.
  • Conduct periodic audits of financial records and cost control processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to cost coding systems.

Risk Management & Efficiency Improvement

  • Analyze financial data to detect discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support implementation of improved financial controls and monitoring tools.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost engineering.

Stakeholder Support & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and support to finance and project teams on cost control matters.
  • Train and mentor cost control staff to enhance understanding of procedures and best practices.
  • Support the development of Saudi national talent in line with Saudization objectives.
  • Present budgeting plans and financial requirements to senior management and government stakeholders.

Corporate Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
