Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Counsel for a Global Crypto Exchange based in Dubai.

Location – Dubai, UAE

Salary – Depending on Experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (or equivalent), with a minimum 2:1 classification or equivalent academic standing.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal role, preferably within the UAE.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a Legal Counsel or equivalent in-house legal role.
• At least 1–2 years’ professional experience within a Web3, blockchain, or distributed ledger technology environment.
• Demonstrated experience within fintech, blockchain, Web3, investments, or technology-driven sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Proven experience supporting corporate governance, including annual filings and internal governance processes.
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Highly driven, ambitious, and motivated to build a long-term career in a scaling, international organisation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint is an advantage.
• Ability to work proactively, manage priorities effectively, and raise legal risks with confidence.
• At least two professional references available upon request. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support across corporate governance, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance for the group and its global affiliates.
• Work closely with one of the CEOs on general legal matters, dedicating approximately 50% of the role to executive-level legal advisory.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of agreements including commercial contracts, partnerships, investment-related documents, and IP matters.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly within fintech, blockchain, and Web3 environments.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to protect the business.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical legal opinions and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Support corporate governance activities, including annual filings, internal governance procedures, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, marketing, investments, media, gaming, and technology teams to support business initiatives.
• Act as a trusted legal partner in a fast-paced, high-growth, innovation-led environment, maintaining ethical and best-practice standards.
