Job Description

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer for a FinTech company based in Dubai.

Location – Dubai, UAE

Salary – 50,000 – 60,000 AED/month

Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading engineering in fintech, B2B banking, or regulated financial platforms.
• Strong hands-on background in backend, DevOps, cloud, and distributed architecture.
• Deep familiarity with 2–3 major core banking systems and how they behave operationally and technically.
• Experience with APIs, databases, cloud platforms, Git, CI/CD, and modern development tools, with the ability to adopt and integrate new technologies as needed.
• Expertise in API connectivity, data orchestration, security, and integration-heavy environments.
• Strong understanding of the banking ecosystem, including compliance, risk, operational processes, and digital transformation frameworks.
• Experience scaling technology through the 0→1→10 journey is a major advantage.
• Clear, confident communicator who can represent the technology function to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Banking Technology Expertise (Core Focus – 80%)

• Own the architecture and technical design of a heavily B2B banking platform with complex integrations.
• Deeply understand core banking systems (Temenos, Flexcube, Finacle, or similar) and how they connect to third-party platforms.
• Lead the design and optimisation of API-driven integrations with banks, vendors, and financial institutions.
• Ensure secure, compliant, and scalable data flows that align with ISO 27001, UAE regulatory frameworks, and global best practices.
• Assess and optimise workflows across onboarding, KYC/AML, customer journeys, lending, payments, operational processes, and other key banking flows.
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and guide engineers in navigating bank-side limitations, protocols, and SLAs.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Stay deeply involved in technical decision-making, code reviews, solution design, and architecture discussions.
• Oversee engineering velocity, platform reliability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
• Ensure best-in-class DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
• Maintain a high-performing engineering culture with strong code quality, documentation, and operational discipline.

Strategic & Organisational Leadership (20%)

• Partner closely with the CEO, Product, and Operations to shape the technology roadmap.
• Translate banking needs into scalable product and technology strategy.
• Guide the evolution of the company’s platform as the company grows into multi-product, multi-bank, and multi-market.
• Represent the company to banking partners, investors, and regulators as a confident domain authority.
• Support the recruitment, mentoring, and scaling of engineering teams during rapid growth.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer who is both a hands-on domain expert in banking platforms and a strategic technology leader. This role leans heavily into technical banking subject matter expertise (80%) with strategic leadership and scaling responsibilities (20%). The ideal CTO understands banking from the inside out: core banking systems, digital channels, API integration layers, compliance requirements, and ecosystem connectivity. This person will guide technical decisions, own the platform architecture end-to-end, and ensure the company’s technology remains reliable, secure, scalable, and fully aligned with the complexities of the financial services sector.
