We are looking for a Paralegal for a Global FinTech Company based in Dubai.

Qualifications:

  • Law degree (preferably in a Common Law jurisdiction), and LPC or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Support and Document Management: Provide comprehensive legal support to our inhouse Legal Team. This includes assisting on legal projects, drafting, revising, and reviewing a variety of legal documents such as contracts, agreements, policies, and other organizational documents. Regularly liaise with external counsels and clients to expedite legal processes.
  • Compliance Assistance: Assist with company compliance matters in relation to retail trading, keeping up-to-date with relevant industry-specific regulations, and legislation. Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program, and advise management on the companys compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on various topics pertinent to the firm's operations and provide reports, briefings, and recommendations based on findings.
  • Legal Drafting
    • Insurance renewal documents, NDAs and non-complex legal documents drafting assistance
    • working with IT to establish automation and self-help for business to execute standard documents (on documents established withing Legal Team’s standard risk parameters)
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with our Legal Team to ensure the company's legal operations adhere to all local, national, and international laws and regulations. Help monitor regulatory changes in the retail trading industry and ensure changes are communicated and implemented across the organization. Corporate Governance: Assist with the preparation, management, and archiving of corporate governance materials. Ensure all corporate filing, licenses, and registrations are up to date. Attend board meetings, prepare minutes, and handle follow-up actions, when necessary.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments, including HR, Finance, and Operations to collect information, clarify legal requirements, and advise on legal implications of business decisions. Maintain an open line of communication to address any potential legal issues promptly.
  • Contract Management:
    • Manage the full lifecycle of contract management and vendor agreements, from initial drafting to final execution and archiving.
    • Ensure the smooth running of the contract management process, including coordinating signatures, maintaining contractual records, and ensuring contracts are compliant with laws and company policies. Familiarity with contract management systems is a plus.

  • Policy Drafting:
    • Assist the Legal Team in drafting company-wide policies to help the business operation efficiently and within the scope of applicable rules and regulations by jurisdiction.
    • Archiving and filing of legal teams project folders and management of the firms policy library
    • setting out the legal operational processes (execution and document storage)
  • Legal Department request management process management
    • Managing firms Jira ticketing/ allocation and assignment process, purchase orders and invoice reviews from other departments received by Legal
    • Ad Hoc assistance in other matters e.g. transaction management, KYC and DD processes and assisting General Counsel and other Legal Team members on strategic projects

About the Role:

As Paralegal, you will be responsible for supporting in-house Lawyers to deliver tailored and pragmatic legal advice. The ultimate goal of this role is to enable the Legal Team to better serve its clients more efficiently and effectively across all areas of the business whilst minimising legal risks. Curiosity, pragmatism, common sense, good attention to detail, and avidity to learn are key to succeed. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working within an international fast paced, dynamic legal environment, and takes pride in the accuracy and quality of their work. Interest in the world of Fintech, regulated financial investment and services would be a plus.
