Job Description

We are looking for a Managing Director for a Financial Services company operating across Africa.

Location – Fully Remote

Salary – 5,000 - 7,000 EUR/month (20,000 - 29,000 AED/month)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Managing Director or General Manager of a microfinance institution in Africa (essential)
• Strong knowledge of African microfinance markets, lending operations, credit risk and regulatory requirements
• Proven experience in business development, financial management and team leadership
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and manage senior-level teams across multiple countries
• Excellent strategic planning, communication and decision-making skills
• Fluency in both English and French (mandatory)
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate teams across different countries

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and coordinating microfinance operations across multiple African countries
• Developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, profitability and financial sustainability
• Recruiting, appointing and supervising local Branch Directors in each country
• Setting performance targets and monitoring financial results, lending activities and portfolio quality
• Ensuring compliance with local regulations, internal policies and risk management standards
• Identifying new business opportunities, partnerships and markets for expansion
• Establishing effective reporting systems and ensuring accountability across all branches
• Reporting directly to senior management on business performance and strategic priorities

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Managing Director to oversee microfinance operations across multiple African countries for a financial services company. You will be responsible for overall business performance, operational management and strategic development, as well as recruiting and supervising local Branch Directors in each country. The ideal candidate is a seasoned microfinance executive with proven African market experience, strong leadership skills and a results-driven approach to managing multi-country operations. This is a fully remote senior executive role, open to candidates in any country, and requires fluency in both English and French. It offers the opportunity to drive the growth and expansion of microfinance operations across the African continent.
