Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Design Lead for a renovation company based in Riyadh.

 

Location – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Salary – 12,000 – 15,000 SAR/month

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5–8 years of proven experience in technical interior design, detailing, and execution support within fit-out or construction environments.
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in shop drawings, construction detailing, and technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate external freelancers and third-party drafting resources, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Solid understanding of on-site execution, contractor coordination, and construction workflows.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong quality control and technical compliance mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, startup or scale-up environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Saudi national preferred (not mandatory).
  • Riyadh-based, with availability for office presence and site coordination as required.
  • Valid Saudi driving license is mandatory.

Tools & Skills:

  • AutoCAD (mandatory)
  • REVIT (not mandatory)
  • Experience coordinating across design, execution, and site teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication (Arabic required; conversational English preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce, review, and approve all technical drawings and shop drawings across assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with approved designs.
  • Translate design intent into clear, detailed, and executable technical documentation suitable for construction and site execution.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications and resolve drawing-related queries with contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Identify potential constructability challenges early in the process and propose practical, cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Brief, manage, and review the output of external freelancers and drafting resources to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to project standards.
  • Support project teams with technical problem-solving throughout the execution phase to ensure smooth delivery on site.
  • Prepare, review, and validate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) aligned with approved drawings, detailed technical specifications, and project budgets.
  • Propose alternative materials, finishes, systems, and construction methodologies that optimise cost, availability, quality, and timelines, in coordination with design, procurement, and site teams.
  • Oversee bespoke furniture, fixture, and accessory (FF&A) manufacturing, including prototype development, to ensure high-quality execution and adherence to design intent.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all technical documentation through the application of robust QA and drawing standards.
  • Maintain, improve, and enforce technical drawing standards, workflows, and quality assurance processes across projects.
  • Identify efficient solutions to site execution challenges while preserving design integrity and achieving cost and time efficiencies.
