We are looking for a Chief Accountant for a Food and Beverage Distribution Company based in Dubai

Location – Dubai, UAE

Salary – Depending on Experience

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a professional qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) being mandatory.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Experience in the FMCG or distribution industry is a significant asset.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Key responsibilities:

• Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee all accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS and UAE regulations.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, promoting efficiency, accuracy, and professional growth.
• Compliance: Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage the annual budget process, prepare financial forecasts, and conduct detailed variance analysis to guide strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls: Strengthen and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Cost Management (FMCG Focus): Given the FMCG industry, focus on optimizing costs related to distribution, inventory, and promotions. Develop product costing models and analyze profitability.
• Financial Advisory: Provide insightful financial analysis to management, highlighting performance trends, risks, and opportunities.

We are looking for a Chief Accountant who will lead and manage the company's accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with all local and international accounting standards. The role requires a certified professional with proven management experience and will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth in the competitive FMCG distribution market.
