Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Accountant for a FMCG company based in Dubai.

 

Location Dubai, UAE

Salary 9,000 – 10,000 AED/ month + benefits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Accounting
  • At least 2 years related working experiences required
  • Software Proficiency: SAP user experience required
  • Big 4 Experience: Previous experience working at any of the Big 4 accounting firms is a plus
  • Good at logical thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Ability to work well unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English both in written and spoken.
  • Patient and detail-oriented personality
  • A good team player is a must

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the system administrator for the Purchase Order (PO) system, responsible for updating master data, leading enhancements and changes, and coordinating with consultants to address technical inquiries from users.
  • Oversee the PO and invoice approval process, ensuring adherence to the three-way matching principle and maintaining an updated tracker for POs.
  • Process staff reimbursements and vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. Verify all necessary supporting documents and approvals prior to payment, and facilitate posting in the system.
  • Contribute to the month-end closing process, which includes preparing and tracking accruals, reviewing GL codes, posting prepaid amortization, and monitoring staff receivables.
  • Prepare reconciliations for vendors, the representative office account, and the balance sheet as part of the month-end reporting package.
  • Act as the primary custodian of petty cash for the Dubai Office, ensuring proper posting of petty cash transactions in SAP after validating supporting documents, and conducting periodic reconciliations for month-end reports.
  • Assist with GCM control checks and compliance activities for the entities in the Middle East and Turkey.
  • Serve as the main contact for banking activities, including tracking and recording forex transactions.
  • Manage the posting and reconciliation of corporate credit card expenses.
  • Identify and propose improvements related to the Purchase-to-Pay and Record-to-Report cycles.
  • Support queries related to both external and internal audits, including retrieving samples as needed.
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments and projects as directed by management.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Junior Accountant who will be responsible for Purchase-to-Pay management process and control, day-to-day recording of transactions, monthly closing activities, and other ad hoc assignments as required by Management.
